Chocolate Banana Ice cream Recipe

Simple and easy dessert recipe. This one is for adults as it does contain some Baileys and a small amount of rum. You can double this recipe if you're having guests or keep it small for a little treat for you and your mate. There's no ice cream machine needed. Just blend the ingredients and freeze. A very impressive gourmet dessert to serve your guests. Just don't tell them how easy it is! If you decide that you would like to experiment with the type of liquor, you will need to include the same amount and percentage of alcohol as this is what keeps the ice cream from freezing too hard. The addition of banana is what gives the smooth, creamy consistency and the sweetness, so it is suggested to use a nice, ripe one. This recipe keeps for weeks in the freezer with a perfect consistency. Photo and recipe adapted from  David Lebowitz.

This recipe is for 4 to 6 scoops of ice cream.
2 ounces (55 g) of bittersweet or semisweet chocolate
6 tbl (80 ml) milk, whole or low fat
6 tbl  Baileys liquor
1 medium sized ripe banana, peeled and cut into chunks
1 tbl (15 ml) dark rum
Melt the chocolate with the milk in a small bowl set over a pan of simmering water. Blend (in a blender) the melted chocolate and milk with the Baileys, the banana and rum until smooth. Pour into a plastic container and freeze at least 4 hours. Enjoy!!
