Champagne Sangria Recipe

Light and refreshing, this is a perfect summer time drink. Beautiful to serve at your next party, easy to make.
Dice up one Anjou pear, one nectarine and 1 cup of strawberries. Place in a large pitcher. Add 1/2 cup of pear vodka, 1/3 cup lime juice, 1/3 cup simple syrup and stir. Keep chilled in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve. Just before serving stir in one 750 ml bottle of champagne or sparkling wine. Use a slice of lemon to wet the edge of the serving glass and rim with sugar. Pour your Sangria! Cheers!
The simple syrup is made by mixing equal parts sugar and water and lightly simmering until the sugar is dissolved. Store in the refrigerator until needed. Photo and  Recipe Courtesy  Freutcake.
