Coffee Smoothie Recipe

Coffee smoothies. Seems like a great idea. If you love the taste of coffee and the idea of drinking it chilled or iced, then the following recipes are for you. I think that this is a great way to use any leftover coffee. Store any unused coffee in the fridge so that you can make one of these when it suits you. I think it makes for the ideal pick-me-up when you come home from work, or take one with you for an enviable coffee break treat through out your day. Photo courtesy  Coffee Blog.

Ingredients:  #1

One cup coffee (cold)
1 tsp sugar, honey and/or 1-2 tbl of chocolate syrup
1 banana cut into chunks
5 ice cubes
1/2 cup whole milk
Blend until smooth.

Ingredients: #2

1 cup strong coffee (cold)
1 cup milk(cold)
2 heaping tablespoons instant vanilla pudding
sugar or honey 1-3 tsp depending on taste
about 2 cups small ice cubes (adding more ice will thicken it)
Blend until smooth.

Use your imagination. The idea of adding instant vanilla pudding is from Joy. You can add a little bit of cinnamon, almond extract, a few unsalted nuts or a bit of peanut butter. There's always room for some whipped cream on the top, and maybe some shaved chocolate.
Let your taste buds guide you. Extra ice and/or banana will thicken the smoothie. You could also start with a flavored coffee base such as Hazelnut or French vanilla...Enjoy!
