Best Ever Burger Recipe

This tasty delight is referred to as the Botham Burger by chef  Jamie Oliver. The addition of coriander and cumin makes this burger an interesting taste sensation, but as you know you can add extra spices to suit your palette. What follows here is just a good basic burger recipe. Photo courtesy of  Happy Dreamily Burger.

This makes 4 generously sized 8 ounce burgers.
2 1/4 lb ground beef ( lean is good, fat adds flavor but too much fat will make your patties shrink and also makes them hard to manage on the BBQ because the fat landing on the hot coals causes flames)
2  red onions(tennis ball sized),finely chopped
2 eggs
1 handful of  bread crumbs
1 tbl ground coriander
1/2 tsp cumin
1 heaping tsp Dijon mustard
salt and pepper
Scrunch the ingredients together. Add the bread crumbs. Divide the mixture into 4 patties. You get to decide on the shape, thin and flat or fat and round. If you don't have a BBQ, Jamie Oliver  cooks these in the oven at 400 degrees for 25 or 30 minutes.
Put them on a broiling pan if you're cooking them this way so that any fat can safely drain into the tray underneath.
You decide what to top the burger with. More often than not we go for the classic addition of tomato, dill pickle, onion, and lettuce. The grilled or toasted bun usually benefits from mustard, mayo, ketchup or some kind of BBQ sauce.
Use this as a guide for 4 burger patties. Double it for 8,... 1/2  the recipe for 2. Experiment with the addition of garlic, oregano or chili peppers to the meat mixture. Change up your toppings with the addition of cheddar cheese or salsa...which brings us to our next burger recipe. Enjoy!
