Best Burger With Chili Sauce Recipe

This is the signature burger at Chez Piggy in Kingston Ontario.They serve this burger with a rich spicy chili sauce that is also good on other cuts of beef, you can even try it on barbecued hot dogs. Here is the burger recipe and the easy to make chili sauce.Photo courtesy  Grillen' With Wolf .

Chili Sauce: 

Makes 6 cups.
9 Tomatoes, cored & coarsely chopped
3 onions diced
1 1/4 cups white vinegar
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 1/4 tsp coarse salt
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Combine ingredients in a large pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and cook for 2 hours, or until sauce thickens. This will keep refrigerated in a jar for a month. For a result that tastes a little more tart, you can also make this using green tomatoes.


2 1/4 lb  Ground Chuck  makes 4 or 6 patties
2 cloves garlic
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 eggs
1 tbl Dijon mustard
1 tbl ground cumin
1 1/2 tsp chili powder
1 1/2 tsp coarse salt
1 handful finely ground rolled oats
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Divide into 4 or 6 patties. Fry, broil or grill to your liking. Serve your burger with the chili sauce and your favorite fixings.
